Summit Oil and Shipping Limited (SOSL) IPO Form and Result will be get from here, a part of Summit Group, started its operation in 1998 as a private company. SOSL was converted into a public company on 30 June, 2010. The present authorised and paid up capital of the Company is Tk.200 crore and Tk.50 crore respectively.
The registered office of the Company is situated at the Summit Centre, 18 Karwan Bazar C/A, Dhaka–1215, Bangladesh.
SOSL was set up to transport Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) by coastal oil tankers owned by it in order to reach the HFO at the power plant site of Khulna Power Co Ltd (KPCL) at Khulna from its intermediary store at Chittagong. For the purpose, SOSL executed a 15-year Transportation Agreement with United Summit Coastal Oil Ltd (USCOL), the fuel supplier of KPCL, to render the HFO transportation services.
At present, SOSL operates a fleet of 6 coastal oil tankers having carrying capacity ranging from 1,200 MT to 2,500 MT, i.e., a total of 9,900 MT of liquid products. With the increased number of tankers, SOSL transports HFO to different power plant sites under agreement with three oil marketing companies of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) namely, Jamuna Oil Co. Ltd., Meghna Petroleum Ltd. and Padma Oil Co. Ltd.
The Company has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oil Tanker suppliers to procure two 16,000 to 20,000 MT ocean going tankers. These would be utilised to transport HFO from Singapore and the Middle East for import of HFO into Bangladesh.
In addition, SOSL has constructed a liquid storage tank terminal of  7,600 MT capacity which is expandable up to 20,000 MT capacity  at Madangonj under the Narayangonj district situated on 4.02 acres of land owned by SOSL which  started commercial operation on 20 February, 2011
Recently SOSL has executed a Memorandum of Agreement with Mobil Jamuna Fuels Ltd, taking lease of their 30,000 MT capacity storage tanks at Patenga, Chittagong. This storage terminal would be used to store bulk HFO for different power plants transported by SOSL’s own ocean – going vessels. From the intermediary storage, SOSL would again transport the HFO upto different plant sites by its coastal tankers.
SOSL implemented ISO 9002 Quality Management System (QMS) in 2001. This is the first ISO 9002 certified shipping company in Bangladesh."
