RUPANTARITA PAKRITIK GAS COMPANY LIMITED

RPGCL was organized as a company to convert vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and to popularize the use of CNG. Later, the company was also given the responsibility of extracting LPG from the wet gas stream, and refine it for bottling and marketing. RPGCL was the pioneer in CNG conversion and recently CNG convrsion and retailing business have been opened to private sector and RPGCL is providing more supervisory and advisory roles to the private operators. Induction of private sector in CNG conversion and retailing have resulted in a rapid expansion of the network. The current status upto April  2011 of the Bangladesh CNG scenario is as follows:

Total established CNG refilling stations in operation:   549Nos. CNG conversion workshop in operation:   180 Nos. Number of Vehicles converted into CNG :   1,68,695Nos. Total CNG run vehicles in Bangladesh:   1,96,783Nos. CNG is being used in monthly of all CNG Filling Stations 104.30 (MMCM)
